Erano le 17.30 locali di Algeri (le 18.30 a Roma) quando Eisenhower tuppe gli indugi e decise di trasmettere l’annuncio dell’avvenuta forma dell’armistizio tra Italia e Alleati. Un intervento brevissimo di 20 secondi che sarà ripreso dopo pochi minuti anche dall’agenzia di stampa Reuter.
